Hey guys, today's the start of the January Challenge. Every Friday we'll have a weigh in, you also have the option of weighing in at the end of the month.
At the end of the month, we will be giving shout outs to all of the individuals who have made it to their goal weight for January.
At the end of the month, we will also be giving shout outs to the top 3 individuals who have lost overall most percentage of weight loss.
At the end of the month, if you participated in keeping track of your **measurements, we will be giving shout outs to the top 3 individuals who have lost overall most inches provided you use the measurements listed in #8 for fairness. This only needs to be done & posted officially in this start up post and in the final post on January 31st. There’s no need to post weekly updates of your measurements (though you can if you want!).
**You are in charge of keeping track of your own measurements. There will not be any spreadsheet. This is why I suggest just doing a starting measurement and an ending measurement on the 31st of January.
Please state your:
1. Starting Weight
2. Current Weight
3. Goal Weight for month of January
4. Long term goal weight
5. Height
6. Goals for January
7. Goals for the next week
8. Measurements (if you have them). For the purpose of the challenge so that everyone is using the same measurements and it’s fair, we will use the following measurements: bust, waist, hips, butt, thighs (R & L), upper arms (R & L), and calves (R & L). Here is a helpful link to help you accurately measure yourself: http://www.danceshoesonline.com/sizecha
On that website, it refers to “upper hips” as “hips” and the “hips” being the “butt” measurement. If you have any questions about measurements, just ask me.
9. Pictures (if you have them) – they’re always fun to see and a great, objective way to see your progress!
Again, # 8 & 9 are totally optional. If you don’t feel like participating in keeping track of your measurements or posting pictures, that’s totally fine. :) Pictures and measurements are just other tools besides the scale to measure your progress. There won’t be a spreadsheet for this. Just put it in the answers in this post and in the final post (and every week if you want to, though I warn it’s discouraging as inches lost don’t always happen week to week).
It's a new year! Hooray. Good luck.

Hi everyone! I'm Michelle reppin' (I swear I never use that word, just found it fitting haha) Los Angeles, CA! I am 25 going on 26 soon (woohoo, but ya' sure can't tell by my colorful room haha). Love art, addicted to color, just like to BE. My room is a work in progress, not completely done with it. Let me just say, there are LOTS of pictures behind the cut. I warned you :)

1. Please provide your starting weight for December
2. Current weight as of today
3. Percentage lost
To get your percentage of loss, divide the pounds lost by your starting weight then multiply by 100. For example, if your starting weight for December was 150, and you lost 2lbs this month, you divide 2/150 (=0.0133) then multiply by 100, so 1.33%
Did you meet your weight goal for December? Did you meet other goals you made for December? How did the month go for you?
January weigh in on Friday!
Hey,
I'm just curious as of what you people eat or have on your diet.
I eat pretty unhealthy...like a college student...like the typical dorm food :/
I am a vegetarian so the thing i eat most is cheese pizza. oh what a shame. haha
but I don't eat so much when I'm away at school because I have to save the food for later.
when I come home I overeat!
i usually don't plan what i eat or rarely cook because i live in a dorm.

Hello!
My boyfriend was super awesome and got me a Wii Fit Plus for Christmas (much to everyone else's shock lmao), and now I'm playing with it. I spent an hour and a half playing yesterday and burned an estimated 480 calories... And now I'm sore. XD
This was a really wonderful gift to me because it's helped reinspire me to lose weight, and I really needed that after I gained back all the weight I lost in the last year. So, I'm starting a loose diet. I don't have too much control over what I eat as I live with my parents and they don't really let me know when they're going grocery shopping, so I'm eating more fruit and vegetables, smaller portions, more fiber, etc., and looking forward to seeing how that goes.
My really question is...
Have any of you used Wii Fit (plus) while dieting and had good results?
I'm unable to go to a gym because of my low funds and don't feel safe walking around my neighborhood, so I'm hoping this will help me a long. At least for the next 6 months until I move out and can control my own food and walk and go to the gym again. =D
Thanks for sharing your stories!

PS... To clarify, I ASKED for the Wii Fit... My bf isn't rude lmao!

I was sitting at the desk butchering paper cranes to hang from my ceiling [using fishing line + white thumb tacks] when I decided I'd love to see other people's little special room things. Especially since I'm currently idea seeking. :)
Just something in your room/house that you really love. Jars of colorful buttons, a canopy over the bed, an old cookie tin from the thrift store, etc. Anything you believe fits this post!
• Bonus points if you provides pix and if its a DIY, super pts if you give instructions. ;))
Let's see 'em!

I've discovered, when it comes to losing weight and getting healthy, it's incredibly important to celebrate the little victories, or else it's too easy to become discouraged and overwhelmed.
So this is a celebration.
Tonight, for the first time in my life, I ran a mile in 10 minutes and 53 seconds. Now, I know this is below average, but I weigh 250 lbs and only began exercising a month ago, at which point I was averaging a 13-14 minute mile, if I could even sustain the pace necessary to do that.
I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so good about myself. I want to do this again. And again. And again. I could get addicted to being in shape.
